Training workshop on how to utilise the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP) was organized in all the Districts across Ghana. The two-day workshop which ended on Wednesday 14th July, 2021.
Information gathered enough from operanewsgh from some Districts in the Ashanti Region reveal that each GALOP School is given an amount of two thousand five hundred Ghana Cedis (GhC 2,500.00) every first term. That is known as Base Grant.
This is said to last for the next five academic years (2021-2026).
For every second term, Ghana Education Service would offer each GALOP school five Ghana Cedis (GhC 5.00) per pupil, that is also known as the Enrollment Grant.
Heads of Schools and their Assistants have therefore been given tuition on how to access the GALOP Grant. They (Heads) are to draw yearly budget which would be presented to the Ghana Education Service Headquarters through the District and Regional Education Offices.
Unlike the conventional capitation grant, the GALOP grant will hit the account of the selected school directly. Heads can access this grant without approval or clearance by the District Director of Education.
The Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project Grant should be used for activities that will help to improve learning outcomes and increase enrollment drive only.
