Some IPPD Coordinators in some Districts/Metro/Municipals and regions in collaboration with some biometric officials have being Exposed for Extorting Monies from Newly Posted Teachers at their biometric centres before being taken through the exercise.
Amid the Biometric Registration for Newly Posted Teachers who have worked for over seven (7) months without Salaries, some Integrated Personnel and Payroll Directors (IPPD) Coordinators of some Districts/Metros/Municipals in collaboration with the Biometric Officials are taking amounts ranging from fifty (50) to hundred (100) cedis at their biometric centers before being taken through the exercise claiming that, the collected monies are going to be used in paying the transportation for the biometric officials.
A statement from the Coalition of Newly Posted Teachers (CoNPT) under the auspices of Akosua Rebecca Bawa, president and Emmanuel Abugri, Secretary, has exposed some of the Districts and Regions whose coordinators are scheduled to be involved in the loathsome act.
Among the Districts/Metros/Municipal and regions are Atwima Kwawoma District in Ashanti Region, Daboase District in Western Region, Wassa Amenfi West, Asunafo South District in the Ahafo Region of Ghana.
According to the statement, some of the newly teachers who had already done their biometric regisstrations were forced to pay monies they did not have or faced the serious consequences at the biometric centers at Kumasi GNAT hall.
At Koforidua, Ghc 10.00 was paid by each teacher at the biometric center, Teachers in Wa were made to pay Ghc 100.00 and Ghc 50.00 each from teachers in the Ahafo Ano South East.
Leaders of the aforementioned group are therefore craving the indulgence of the minister of the Sector, Hon. Osei Yaw Adutwum, to look into this issue as a matter of urgency and call these officials to order as soon as possible to prevent this daylight robbery from happening under his watch and might go along way to tarnish the image of his reputable office.
