Another
Academic term has started
once again. It is therefore the primary mandate for a facilitator to prepare
adequately before class session. For this reason, the facilitator must have a well-prepared Scheme of Learning (Yearly
& Termly) and weekly notes to meet the topics to be treated and how it will be strategically
facilitated.
THINGS TO NOTE
- Scheme
of Learning
- Yearly Scheme of Learning - Yearly Scheme of Learning in simple terms entails what to be taught for the whole academic year (in a termly and weekly manner).
- Termly Scheme of Learning - Termly Scheme of Learning TSL, covers what will be taught in a designated term and what will be taught each week.
"Lesson note/Plan" is a document by the teacher/facilitator which indicates the flow of the lesson and its effect on learners. (It is therefore necessary to prepare it strategically in order to deliver effectively).
It is a teacher's detailed description of the course of instruction or learning pattern for a lesson. Varrying of lesson plan is based on preference of the teacher, subject being covered and the needs of the learner.
HOW TO WRITE LESSON NOTES
- Topic and point of the lesson
- Objectives (what learners should be able to grab at the end of the lesson)
- Background knowledge
- Materials
- Lesson Sequence (Step by step guide to delivering the lesson)
- Time Management
- Guided teaching
- Closure/Assessment (mainly used to check if learners got the understanding of what you (teacher/facilitator) delivered)
Note these Also;
- Know your purpose.
- write your outline.
- Plan your schedule.
- Know your students/pupils.
- Use different students' communication designs.
- Use different learning methods.
- Lesson cannot be delivered without notes, hence it is obvious every teacher ought to do his/hers.
