Labour wants 'COLA' Maintained till discussions are over
In one of our previous news items, it was stated that Base Pay Negotiation is Likely To Continue Till Mid-Year according to Analyzing History And Posture Of The two Parties Involved (thus Organized Labour and Public Sector Workers).
Information reaching us via 3news indicates that labour wants the Cost Of Living Allowance that was negotiated and given to Public Sector Workers starting August, 2022 maintained till discussions of the Base Pay are over.
The other party involved is yet to either go into terms with what the Labour has suggested or ignore.
This has in a way confirmed that, the 2023 Base Pay Negotiation is not ending any time soon.
As a result of this, members of the teaching fraternity are in suspense as to whether they will be paid plus or minus the Cost Of Living Allowance for the month of January.
