Since its launch in June 2022, the GNAT staff bundle for teachers has undergone several changes to ensure a seamless user experience. The bundle, which was initially available only to members of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) in the Ashanti Region, has been expanded to include all GNAT members nationwide.
In a bid to ensure that only GNAT members benefit from the package, teachers were required to register using their GNAT mutual fund IDs instead of their staff IDs. However, this requirement has been reversed and teachers can now use their staff IDs for registration purposes.
While the use of staff IDs for registration has been widely accepted by teachers, it has also led to some abuses of the system. For instance, teachers have been known to use the serial digits of staff IDs belonging to other teachers without their consent. Additionally, some users have ignored the guideline to register only one beneficiary number and have registered multiple numbers instead.
To combat these issues, the staff bundle team has introduced a Google form to register new members. However, the additional information required, such as full name, school name, district name, and region, may deter some potential registrants from signing up. There are concerns that the personal information, combined with the staff ID, could be used for nefarious purposes.
Despite these challenges, the GNAT staff bundle for teachers remains an excellent package for MTN subscribers. The bundle provides subscribers with affordable voice and data packages, as well as a range of exciting incentives. The staff bundle team is committed to ensuring that the package continues to serve the needs of GNAT members nationwide.
