The Director-General of Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr Eric Nkansah, accompanied by the Honorable Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Eastern Regional Minister, and Heads of other agencies of the Ministry of Education, paid a surprise visit to some schools in the Eastern Region recently .
The schools that received the visitation team were Methodist Girls Senior High School in Mamfe, Mampong-Akuapim Senior High Technical School for the Deaf, Demonstration School for the Deaf in Mampong-Akuapim, Presbyterian Senior High School in Mampong-Akwapim, Aburi Girls’ Senior High School, Presbyterian Senior High Technical School in Aburi, and Presbyterian Junior High School in Aburi.
The team observed classroom lessons and gave words of encouragement to the students. They also inspected school facilities, and the Honorable Minister pledged to facilitate the provision of new facilities where necessary.

The visit was an opportunity to recognize the great work that the teachers in these schools are doing. The observations made during the visit testify to the commitment of the teachers to their students and their profession.
