Ghana Education Service faces backlash over recent postings/appointment letters of teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has finally made public the highly anticipated 2023 appointment letters of applicants who applied for various teaching positions nationwide. The release of the appointment letters has brought about a sense of excitement and relief to the applicants who have been eagerly waiting for the recruitment process to come to a close.

However, the release of the appointment letters has been marred by confusion and controversy, with many genuine applicants allegedly missing out on the opportunity, while others who did not meet the criteria reportedly received appointment letters. Reports suggest that the recruitment process was rife with favoritism, party politics, fraud, and scams, which led to the premature issuance of appointment letters to some applicants.

Social media users have shared images and documents that confirm the existence of these fraudulent activities. Some of these materials include appointment letters handed out to applicants by influential individuals and political leaders. These images and documents have exacerbated the situation, leaving many genuine applicants feeling cheated.

Although the GES had earlier released a statement denouncing claims of fake appointment letters, recent events have prompted applicants to question the transparency and legitimacy of the recruitment process. Sources report that the affected applicants are now calling on the GES to investigate the matter and provide clarification, as they believe that the recruitment process was riddled with irregularities and corruption.
