GNAT Facilitates Swift Disbursement of Benefits to Members

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has recently announced the disbursement of post-retirement and death benefits for the period spanning from December 13, 2022, to April 4, 2023. This announcement was made in a letter dated April 14, 2023, bearing the Reference Number 0790/VOL.II/08/23. The payments have been made in full to all ten (10) GNAT regional secretariats on Friday, April 14, 2023, based on the new, nationally-endorsed amount of Three Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH 3,000.00) as of January 2023.

GNAT has instructed all regional secretariats to ensure that checks for specific retired beneficiaries be dispatched to the district secretaries no later than Friday, April 21, 2023. District secretaries have been assigned with the responsibility of ensuring that all retired beneficiaries within their respective districts receive their death or retirement payments in full by the close of business on Friday, April 28, 2023.

GNAT places immense significance on the distribution of post-retirement and death benefits, which is a pivotal component of its welfare program. This program aims to provide financial assistance to personnel who have retired or have passed away while serving in the education sector. Therefore, GNAT is deeply committed to ensuring that the benefits are paid expeditiously and efficiently.

GNAT would like to underscore that it will continue to make every reasonable effort to enhance the welfare of its members and their dependents and to guarantee their well-being in retirement.
