It is an anxious wait for the candidates who took the exam. Many of them have invested time, resources, and energy into their studies and preparations for the promotional exam. The release of the results will be a significant determinant of their professional future, and they can only hope that their hard work will pay off.

The promotion process is designed to be impartial and fair, without any undue influence or bias. Successful candidates will be promoted directly to their new ranks without any subjective evaluation.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has however issued a warning to teachers who sat for the promotion examination about a scam that has been reported to the Service. According to the GES, some teachers are being defrauded by individuals posing as GES staff, promising to facilitate their promotion without going through the proper channels.

In a letter dated 26th April 2023, the GES indicated that it strongly condemns such practices and reaffirms its commitment to the credibility of assessment in the promotion of teachers. The GES emphasized that teachers can only be promoted after they sit and pass their examination, which is organized by the Service. Therefore, any payment made to individuals or groups claiming to be able to influence promotion results should not be entertained.
