Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District Repostings for G.E.S Staff: Guidelines and Procedures for 2023
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the commencement of the Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District reposting of its staff for the 2023 academic year. In a release addressed to all Regional/Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors, the GES management directed all concerned to strictly adhere to the guidelines and procedures that have been put in place for the exercise.
The process for G.E.S staff seeking assurance remains unchanged. Staff who wish to seek reposting are required to submit an application for assurance, along with the appropriate documentation, to their Regional/Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors. The issuance of assurance letters will commence on May 17, 2023, and end on June 19, 2023.
Regional/Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors have however been advised to compile and forward a list of all staff who have been given assurance in their respective regions to the GES Headquarters. Completed applications should be forwarded to the GES Headquarters no later than July 31, 2023. Any documents received after this date will not be accepted.
It is important to note that a staff seeking reposting can only be released after the Director-General has approved and issued a reposting letter to the applicant. The processing of Inter-Regional reposting applications to the Headquarters will commence on July 5, 2023, and take effect from the beginning of the next academic year (September 2023).
In order to ensure that the reposting exercise is conducted smoothly and effectively, all Regional/Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors are expected to cooperate fully with the GES Headquarters. Any non-compliance or disregard for the guidelines and procedures set out by the GES may result in the rejection of the application.
The reposting exercise is an important aspect of the GES's human resource management strategy. It is designed to ensure that staff are adequately deployed to meet the needs of the education sector, while at the same time providing opportunities for career advancement and personal development.
