Students can start work in Canada after starting their Program study. Students cannot work before their studies begin. Students can Work on Campus which means they can work for a hospital or research facility, Library, or for Faculty members.
Eligibility Criteria For Work On Campus:
If you are a full-time student at college or university, or a CEGEP in Quebec, for public post-secondary schools
The school must work the same rules as in public schools, and at least 50% of the funding must come from government funds
A private Canadian school can legally award degrees under provincial law
The permit must be valid having a Social Insurance Number which is 9 digit number issued by Canadian Government.
Work Off-Campus
When your study program has started you can start working in Canada. Before your studies began you cannot work.
Eligibility Criteria For Work Off Campus:
You can work off campus without a work permit if you fulfill all requirements.
Student attends a college or university that is a designated learning institution.
Students are enrolled in vocational training, studies or professional certificate at post-secondary institution.
Students are enrolled in Training Program for Quebec students only.
Students study program is at least six months long and academic program leads to a diploma, degree or Certificate.
Students must have a Social Insurance Number of 9 digits.
Jobs In Canada After Your Graduation
PGWP which is a post-graduation work permit enables you to work full-time in Canada after you have completed a diploma, certificate, or degree that is a minimum of eight months long. Eligibility Criteria For Jobs In Canada After Your Graduation
1 A degree, diploma, or certificate is given after completing a program of study for eight months.
2 All academic sessions must be studied full-time without taking time off from studies.
3 Students cannot take winter or summer break during their coursework.
4 Your 50% program must be completed in Canada.
5 During your study program, you should complete 50% of the coursework.
