Headmaster of Adjeikrom D/A Basic School Retires in Grand Style [+Photos]


After thirty-two years of service in the teaching profession, Mr. James Manu, the headmaster of Adjeikrom D/A Basic School in the Asunafo South District of the Ahafo Region, has retired in a grand style. The retirement service, which was attended by several dignitaries, including Mr. Paul Yeboah, the Circuit supervisor for Sankore South Circuit, Representatives from the District Education Office, the Chairman for conference of heads of basic schools(COHBS), Kurontihene of Adjeikrom, colleague Headteachers, staff of his school and others, was a fitting tribute to the dedicated educator.

Throughout his career, Mr. Manu has been a role model and an inspiration to his colleagues, students, and the wider education community. His passion for teaching, dedication to his students, and a commitment to excellence has been evident in the many successes he has achieved during his tenure as a Headmaster.

During the ceremony, he was was honored for his outstanding service to the school and the community. He was praised for his leadership skills, his ability to inspire and motivate his staff, and his unwavering commitment to ensuring that every student received the best possible education.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Paul Yeboah, the Circuit supervisor for Sankore South Circuit, praised Mr. Manu for his contributions to education, saying that his retirement marked the end of an era in the district. He also commended him for his efforts in creating a culture of excellence, which has led to the school being recognized as one of the best in the Circuit.

The Chairman for conference of heads of basic schools also paid tribute to Mr. Manu, describing him as a dedicated educator who had always put the needs of his students first. He praised him for his tireless efforts in ensuring that every child received the best possible education, saying that his impact would be felt for years to come.

Mr. James Manu, the outgoing headmaster of Adjeikrom D/A Basic School, received another feather in his cap during his retirement ceremony. The Chief of Adjeikrom praised him for his immense support in securing a Junior High School (JHS) for the town through the Directorate. He commended Mr. Manu for his tireless efforts in advocating for the educational needs of the community, particularly for the younger generation.

The gesture was a symbolic representation of the love and respect Mr. Manu generated over the years.

In his retirement speech, Mr. Manu expressed his gratitude for the support he had received throughout his career. He thanked his colleagues, students, and the wider community for their unwavering support, saying that it had been an honor to serve his community.

He also used the the occasion as an avenue to answer his wife’s repeated question, “do you love me?” for which he had never replied that, yes! He loves her and will continue to love her till death separates them.

The retirement of Mr. Manu is indeed an end of an era, and it is an opportunity for reflecting on the impact of headteachers like Mr. Manu and assessing how he will be replaced. His approach to leadership, dedication to his students, and commitment to excellence has left an indelible mark on the education system in the Asunafo South District. It, therefore, behooves his successor to continue building on the solid foundation laid by Mr. Manu.
